3 Dogs in a Boat.

What we did on our holidays:
Ursula had never been on the Middle Levels or the Nene, so when Clemency's repaint and refit were complete, we left the children to look after the house and the animals (or vice versa) and cut across to Peterborough and the Nene.

We spent the first night in Fox's Marina at March and the second night in the centre of Peterborough. This photograph shows our mooring for the following night in the lovely Ferry Meadows country park to the west of Peterborough.

Archie, who is usually something of a hooligan came with us and was very well behaved. Here he is, posing with Ursula, at Ferry Meadows.

The Nene from Peterborough up to Fotheringhay is very beautiful and, thankfully, all but one of the locks on this stretch are now electrically operated.

At Fotheringhay, we moored next to the remains of the castle where Mary Q. of S. lost her head. This photograph of our mooring was taken from the top of the castle mound.

Although on most days we spent about six hours on the move, there was plenty of time to catch up on our reading as well as walking Archie and doing a few jobs around the boat.
